To efficiently finish a cutting surface by a honing machine by interchangeably attaching a blade and a cam having a cam surface matching the cutting surface to a rotary assembly and by engaging a cam driven body of a honing spindle assembly with a cam member.
An off-line honing machine 21 is arranged inside a shroud, namely, a closable cabinet 22 mounted on an upper face of an appropriate support structure 23. A turning table assembly 24 is arranged to support and rotate a blade to be honed and ground, and also driven by a motor assembly 25. On the other hand, a carriage assembly 26 movably supports a plurality of spindle assemblies 27, 28. Where, an operator inputs prescribed data, etc., through a control board 31 and controls honing components of the both spindle assemblies 27, 28 via the appropriate cam mechanism by a controller stored inside a control cabinet 29.
