To provide an operating unit that can give a satisfactory click feeling and includes an operating member that is small-sized and excellent in quietness.SOLUTION: An operating unit (50) has: an operating member (501); a gear part (501b) that is provided on the operating member; a plurality of gears (504, 505, 506) that can be meshed with the gear part to be rotated; and a plurality of magnets (504c, 505c, 506c) that are arranged corresponding respectively to the plurality of gears. The plurality of gears are rotated such that the respective adsorption powers of the plurality of magnets are changed in response to a user's operation of the operating member.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
