Title:
OPTICAL DISK READING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3013783
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent destruction of a read-out data by preventing an overflow or an underflow of a RAM (data buffer) due to unlocking of a PLL for regenerating a clock at the time of passing a write succession period.
SOLUTION: A data read out of an optical disk 18 is written in the RAM 14 in accordance with a reproducing clock, and is read out of the RAM 14 in accordance with a reference clock. A run-out block during the write succession period of the read data is detected by a decoding circuit 26. Upon detection of the run-out block, a write pointer of the RAM 14 is forcibly moved into a central position of the whole address by a timing reset circuit 28, while a read pointer is forcibly moved to the first address, so that a relative distance between the write pointer and the read pointer is brought back to a distance of about half of the whole address of the RAM 14.
