Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical element, an irradiation optical system, a converging optical system, and an optical waveguide inspection device that can measure a characteristic of an optical waveguide in high speed and with high accuracy.SOLUTION: An optical element (104) includes: a first half mirror (HM1) which causes incident light to be transmitted or reflected, and of which an angle with respect to a prescribed polarization direction of a mirror plane becomes an angle in which transmittance and reflectance with respect to light in the prescribed polarization light is indicative of a first characteristic; and a second half mirror (HM2) which causes the incident light to be transmitted or reflected, and of which the angle with respect to the prescribed polarization direction of the mirror plane becomes an angle in which the transmittance and reflectance with respect to light in the prescribed polarization light is indicative of a second characteristic. The first half mirror is configured to make the incident light incident upon the second half mirror by transmitting or reflecting the incident light, or the second half mirror is configured to make the incident light incident upon the first half mirror by transmitting or reflecting the incident light.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
