To provide optical parts or the like which include an optical waveguide type diffraction grating element and have adjustable optical characteristics.
The optical waveguide type diffraction grating element 110 and a dummy member 120 are held between a flat plate 131 and a flat plate 132 so that the longitudinal directions of the elements are in parallel to z-axis. The faces of the flat plate 131 and the flat plate 132 which are in parallel with x-z plane hold the optical waveguide type diffraction grating element 110 and the dummy member 120 and the plates act as a load-giving means which gives a load to the optical waveguide type diffraction grating element 110 from the side direction. A stress is given to the optical waveguide type diffraction grating element 110 by giving a load W to both of the flat plate 131 and the flat plate 132 in the direction parallel to y-axis. In this case, the value of the load W given to the waveguide type diffraction grating element 110 is variable and adjustable.
