This oscillating type drive, which involves an oscillating element 1 whose oscillation is excited by an electro-mechanical energy converting element 2, a retaining member 9 which retains the oscillating element, and a contact element 3 which comes into contact with the oscillating element to be driven, is provided with a pressure contact force generating part which generates pressure contact force between the oscillating element and the contact element, formed integrally with at least one member of the oscillating element, the contact element and the retaining member. An output shaft part 24b is formed integrally, which transmits the driving output to a rotator 24, connected to the oscillating element or the contact element in this oscillating type drive, when the rotator 24 is driven by this oscillating type drive.
