This Oshima pongee produced by drying warps with solar light in a tension-free state in a rigidly sizing process carried out before a splashed pattern-tightening process, simultaneously winding up the warps and wefts on warp beams and then weaving the warps and the wefts, and a method for producing the same. The Oshima pongee, wherein splashed pattern yarns and ground yarns are used in a plain state not forming a specific pattern, and a method for producing the same. And the striped or lattice pattern Oshima pongee, wherein pattern yarns and portions except the pattern have different colors, respectively, and a method for producing the same.
