Abstract:
To provide a charnel house capable of improving satisfaction of persons concerned of a deceased person and attendants of a Buddhist memorial service.SOLUTION: A charnel house 10 comprises a storage room 20 for storing a plurality of miniature shrines 50 capable of receiving urns, and a Buddhist memorial service room 30 for performing a Buddhist memorial service for laying deceased person's ashes to rest or a Buddhist memorial service for holding a memorial service for a deceased person. The storage room 20 and the Buddhist memorial service room 30 are adjacent to each other and divided by a wall 40, and the wall 40 is provided with a door 41 for opening/closing an opening interconnecting the storage room and the Buddhist memorial service room. A Buddhist memorial service room-side and a storage room-side of the wall 40 are provided with a Buddhist memorial service room-side miniature shrine table 33 and a storage room-side miniature shrine table 23, respectively, of which an upper surface smoothly continues. A carriage 42 for placing the miniature shrine 50 and moving between the Buddhist memorial service room-side miniature shrine table 33 and the storage room-side miniature shrine table 23 is provided, and at the time of the Buddhist memorial service, the miniature shrine 50 is enshrined on the Buddhist memorial service room-side miniature shrine table 33 in a state where it is placed on the carriage 42.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
