To manufacture packages with different lengths for products of different lengths in random order.
A packaging module 5 comprises a product assembling path having a lot of feeders arranged along a first conveyer 1, a folding means 7 for forming a packaging tube, a second conveyer 8 for advancing the packaging tube, and a cross separating device 10 for separating the packages filled with the products in the cross direction from the packaging tube. A control part controls a discharge of the products from the feeders, a transport speed of the conveyors, and a speed of the cross separating device 10. The cross separating device 10 has two separating components capable of reciprocating movement along a predetermined vertical and horizontal stroke length. At least the horizontal stroke length can be varied by the control part so as to suit the products of different sizes.
