PURPOSE: To automatically exhibit packing results for improving operation efficiency by a method wherein assignment of boxes are done based on reference information for storing items to be delivered into specific inner boxes and based on inner and outer packing information obtained by the box assignment information calculation is processed according to unit price of packing.

CONSTITUTION: A packing results processing unit 6 refers to stored reference information according to box assignment instructing information input from an input/output unit 7 to compare the size and quantity of items to be delivered so as to assign boxes with appropriate boxes selected. A packing list is created by corresponding the box assignment information to the contracted items and storing it. Input of packed contents of outer packages selected by the packing list, usually input of total weight and size number is instructed, and when this completed, completion of packing is indicated. The packing results processing unit 6 creates a packing master file from outputs from a packing list filing unit 2 and an outer packing filing unit 3, refers to specific unit price information of inner packing and outer packing pre-registered and calculates packing results based on the contents of the inner packages and the outer packages. The results are stored in a packing results cost file as well as output to the input/ output unit.
