Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a pad assembly for a disc brake which can effectively prevent the deformation and damage of a lock piece even when assembled into an electric disc brake for use.SOLUTION: An engagement protrusion 19 formed at a back face of a pressure plate 2a is inserted into an engagement hole 26 formed at an outer shim plate 4a. Then, flat face parts 20a, 20b constituting side faces of the engagement protrusion 19 are made to oppose linear parts 27a, 27b which constitute an internal peripheral edge of the engagement hole 26. Furthermore, the flat face parts 20a, 20b and the linear parts 27a, 27b are slightly inclined in a state that the outer shim plate 4a exists in a neutral position. By this constitution, the rotation of the outer shim plate 4a around a center shaft O of a piston 14a based on a rotational force which acts on the outer shim plate 4a from a tip face of the piston 14a is regulated by the line-contact of the flat face parts 20a, 20b and the linear parts 27a, 27b.
