In a panel-type smoke barrier, a plurality of smoke barrier panels 30 are arranged in line and fixed to a ceiling section. A ceiling-section rail-like member 10, an end rail-like member 11, and a lower-end rail-like member 12 are made of metal mold materials having a U-shaped cross-section, and a hanging member 20 for supporting the smoke barrier panels 30 and the lower-end rail-like member 12 is arranged between the smoke barrier panels 30. The hanging member 20 comprises a hanging bar 20r, and fixing members 21 and 22 which are provided at upper and lower ends thereof, respectively. External threads are formed at both ends of the hanging bar 20r, respectively, and mutually screwed to the fixing members 21 and 22. The fixing members 21 and 22 are fixed to the ceiling-section rail-like member 10 and the lower-end rail-like member 12, respectively. Thus, the vertical length of the hanging bar 20r can be finely adjusted. Covering members 25 each made of a flat bar are provided on the front and back sides of frames of the adjacent smoke barrier panels 30 so as to close the gap between the smoke barrier panels 30 provided with the hanging member 20, respectively.
