Abstract:
To provide a roll paper feeder for automatically performing a paper feeding operation after detection of a roll paper tip, which can prevent disabled detection of a sheet tip not peeled due to a curled state of a sheet, static electricity or the like at low cost.SOLUTION: A paper feeder 90 for feeding a sheet from roll paper Pr on which the long sheet is wound comprises: a sensor 93 with detection accuracy that can detect a step of a sheet tip on the surface of the roll paper Pr; a roller 92 disposed at a position different from that of the sensor 93 in the circumferential direction of the roll paper Pr; and a support member (arm 91) placed near the sensor 93 and the roller 92 and which can support them so as to abut against the surface of the roll paper Pr. The sensor 93 and the roller 92 are arranged toward a core of the roll paper, and a mechanism (e.g., pressure release solenoid 98) for generating a peripheral speed difference between the roller 92 and the roll paper Pr is provided.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
