Abstract:
To provide a papermaking two-layer fabric which has improved running stability by improving strength of a papermaking surface side layer in its oblique direction.SOLUTION: A papermaking two-layer fabric 1 includes upper warps 4, lower warps 5, lower wefts 6 woven into the lower warps 5 and not woven into the upper warps 4, self-knotted weft yarns 7 woven into the upper warps 4 and the lower warps 5, and auxiliary weft yarns 8 woven into the upper warps 4 and not woven into the lower warps. A pair of auxiliary weft yarns 8 are arranged between the pair of self-knotted weft yarns 7 in a manner to be adjacent to each other in a papermaking surface side layer 2. With two sets of self-knotted weft yarns 7 and auxiliary weft yarns 8 adjacent to each other, a woven fabric texture for two yarns is formed, and with a pair of auxiliary weft yarns 8 adjacent to each other, a woven fabric texture for one yarn is formed. With many and dense oblique portions being formed in the auxiliary weft yarns 8, the strength of the papermaking surface side layer in its oblique direction is improved.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
