CONSTITUTION: A parking brake controller is equipped with a shift position sensor 61, car speed sensor 62, brake sensor 63, acceleration sensor 64, etc., and the sensor signals are inputted into a control unit U. When the shift position sensor 61 detects the shift position in the stop mode, and the car speed sensor 62 detects that the car speed is less than a prescribed value, and the brake operation sensor 63 detects that the brake operation is carried out, a motor 21 is driven to automatically operate the parking brake device. Further, when the shift position in the drive mode is detected, the operation of the parking brake device is automatically released.
