To make good use of a space of a parking equipment by a method wherein bridges movable in parallel with each other are arranged along the end for taking in and out cars for parking places between an approach way and the parking places provided in a plurality of tiers at the inside of a building for housing the cars in parallel with one another.

A parking space is formed by digging down a part at the ground corresponding to the first story of a building, and parking places are formed in two tiers of the upper and the lower stories at the innermost part as seen from the side of an approach way 2. A person trying to park his (her) car at the parking place either at the upper side or the lower side can move either of the first bridge 6 or the second bridge 7 to a place in front of his (her) parking place, and therefore he (she) can put in and take out his (her) car 4 freely through either of the first bridge 6 or the second bridge 7 without removing another person's car 4 being parked at the upper or the lower part. Therefore, cars can be parked vertically in the parking places in the building, and a parking space can be utilized effectively as compared with conventional flat parking places, allowing more cars to be housed in a limited parking space.
