Abstract:
PURPOSE: To reduce down time due to part running out and thus enable extended continuous operation, by supplying part from a sub-part supply unit if the part runs out in the main part supply unit during part mounting operation.
CONSTITUTION: Parts are set on part supply units ZL, ZR (Steps 11, 12). At this time one of the supply units, ZL for example, is adjusted to function as the main part supply unit and the other ZR is adjusted to operate as the sub- part supply unit. Then mounting operation is started through the main part supply unit ZL (Step 13). If a part runs out in the main part supply unit ZL (Step 14), other parts that have not run out are uninterruptedly mounted through the main part supply unit ZL (Step 17). Then a shift is made from the main part supply unit ZL to the sub-part supply unit ZR, and only the part that has run out is mounted through the sub-part supply unit ZR (Steps 18, 19, 20). Thereafter, mounting operation is performed mainly through the main part supply unit ZL, and only a part that has run out is mounted through the sub-part supply unit ZR.
