Abstract:
PURPOSE: To efficiently operate a melting furnace without maintenance by providing fuel nozzles at the bottoms of two aligned material charging towers coupled at the bottoms and supply and exhaust units having switching valves at tops, switching to introduce materials in the two towers at their tops, and providing melted material outlets at the bottoms.
CONSTITUTION: Two material charging towers 1 are aligned, coupled at the bottoms 2, provided with fuel nozzles 3 and melted material outlets 10, and provided at the tops with supply and exhaust units 5 having switching valves V1-V4 and material introducing units 7 for switching to introduce the materials by material introduction switching valves 6. The materials are uniformly introduced into the towers l. When the air is introduced to the B side in the furnace, the valves V2, V3 are opened and the V1, the V4 are closed, and combustion air is introduced from the V4 to the B side in the furnace via the units 5. Then, the air is moved down and fed to the bottoms while preheating. After a predetermined time, the valves are so switched that the air is introduced to the A side this time. This switching is executed at an interval of several tens of seconds to several tens of minutes.
