NEW MATERIAL: A peptide based on the amino acid sequence of factor VIII which can be used for purification of VIII factor, and a peptide having the amino acid sequence of formula I with amino acid residues 351 to 365 of the factor VIII sequence, or having the amino acid sequence of formula II with 1660 to 1674 amino acid residues of the VIII factor sequence.
USE: Reagent for purification of factor VIII to elute factor VIII from a monoclonal antibody.
PREPARATION: For example, an amino acid with a carboxyl terminal of a desired peptide having α-amino nitrogen and protecting groups on other reactive parts is bonded to an insoluble supporting body such as benzhydrylamine resin. Then α-amino protecting groups are removed and the process is repeated according to the amino acid sequence of the desired peptide to synthesize the peptide chain. Then the peptide chain is separated from the resin and all protecting groups are removed to obtain the desired peptide.
