Abstract:
To obtain a new phenol derivative capable of suppressing formation of foam cell of macrophage by excellent anti-oxidant action and ACAT inhibition action to suppress progress of arteriosclerosis, eliminating active oxygen and suppressing cell injury, etc., in cardiac infarction, ischemia/reperfusion.
This compound is represented by a compound of formula I [R0 is H, a (substituted)alkyl or a (substituted)alkyloxy; R1 is a (substituted) alkyl; R2 is R1 or a (substituted)alkyloxy; OR3 is a (protected)hydroxyl group; R4 is H, a (substituted)lower alkyl or acyl; W is O, S or NR7 is H, an alkyl, etc.); R5 and R6 are each a (substituted)alkyl, a (substituted)amino, etc., e.g. 2-[3-(3-pyridylmethyl)ureido]-4-methoxy-6-tert-butylphenol. The compound of formula I is obtained by reacting, e.g. a compound (reactive derivative) of formula II [OR31 is a (protected)-hydroxy group; W1 is O or S] with an amine compound (salt) of the formula, HNR5R6.
