Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new glycoside useful as a medicine a test and a reagent for assaying the activity of an enzyme, etc., by reacting a phenolic glucosyl glycoside with a β-1,3-glycosyl sugar compound in the presence of a β-1,3-glucanase enzyme. SOLUTION: A new phenolid glycoside of formula I [X is H, OH, nitro; (n) is an integer of 0-9]. The compound of formula I is useful as a medicine raw material, a test and an assay reagent for the activity of β-1,3-glucanase, etc. The phenolic glycoside of formula I is obtained by reacting a phenolic glucosyl glycoside of formula II (e.g. arbutin) with a β-1,3-glycosyl sugar compound (e.g. laminaritentaose) in the presence of an enzyme having a β-1,3- gluocanase activity, such as kitalase, driserase or a sugar transferase SGTase obtained from Streptomyces sp. DIC-108 strain (FERM P-253).
