To provide a PHS terminal which can be improved in usability by making retrieval processing for system ID faster and registering more system IDs to enable the terminal to be used by many systems.
The PHS terminal stores a plurality of sub-system IDs and the numbers of times corresponding thereto in a sub-system ID registration table 16b in the ID-number order and also stores a specified number of sub-system IDs which are large in number of times of connection in a frequency table in the decreasing order of the numbers of times. When a system ID is retrieved, a retrieval processing means 15a of a control unit 15 compares a system ID detected from a reception signal with the system IDs in the frequency table 16c in the frequency order and compares it with the sub-system ID registration table 16b when finding no matching ID, so that when a matching system ID is found, a connection is made using the system ID and the sub-system ID registration table 16b and frequency table 16c are updated.
