CONSTITUTION: A pick finding device for a package P is formed such that after a yarn Y1 is wound around the upper part of the core tube B of a package P the given number of times, the terminal of a yarn winding is pressed against the core tube B by a thread head press lever 9 and further, a yarn having a given length from the terminal of a yarn winding is inserted through the upper part of the core tube B to the interior of the core tube B. A winding yarn detecting sensor 10 by which a wound yarn Y1 after completion of pick finding is detected is arranged to the yarn head press lever 9.
