PURPOSE: To offer a picture signal transmission service automatically even to an unspecified party having no pass word function by devising the equipment such that a voice guide is sent from a called party to a caller in response to a call, and a prescribed picture signal is sent when the caller sets a picture reception state.
CONSTITUTION: When an incoming detection section 1 detects an incoming call in the standby state after startup, a voice reply section 4 sends a prescribed guide message to a telephone line L connected automatically based on the incoming call of a call signal. Thus, a signal detection section 3 starts the detection of a called station confirming CED signal and when a CED signal is detected, the voice reply by the voice reply section 4 is stopped and a facsimile transmission section 5 sends a picture signal. Thus, the transmission of a picture signal from a called party to a caller is applied automatically even to an unspecified party having no pass word function.
