Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture reading device capable of precisely reading an original picture without generating blur by ensuring the traveling safety of an original sheet at a reading part and the contact traveling performance of the original sheet on the reading part.
SOLUTION: This picture reading device is provided with a reading means for reading an original to be carried, a carriage guide means for introducing the original to the picture reading position of the reading means, a backup guide means formed so as to be faced to the reading means, and equipped with a pressurizing means for pressurizing the original introduced to the picture reading position to the reading means side, and a reading guide means formed between the carriage guide means and the backup guide means for guiding the original from the carriage guide means to the backup guide means. In this case, the reading guide means is formed of flexible fill members so as to be displaced according to the difference in the level generated between the carriage guide means and the backup guide means.
