Title:
PIGMENT PREPARATION, ITS PRODUCTION AND ITS USE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH04272964
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a pigment preparation excellent in tinctorial strength and dispersibility by sensitizing a specific arylpararosanilinesulfonic acid pigment by using 8-20C alcohol modified with an alkylene oxide.

CONSTITUTION: An arylpararosanilinsulfonic acid pigment represented by formula I (wherein R1, R2 and R3 are H, chlorine, bromine, a 1-3C alkyl or alkoxy) (e.g.; formula II) is prepared and subsequently dissolved in an alkaline aq. medium at first and an 8-20C alcohol modified with 2-8 mol of propylene oxide and 1-14 mol of ethylene oxide (e.g.; 2-ethylhexyl alcohol) is added to the resulting soln. to sensitize the pigment. Next, mineral acid is added to the soln. to precipitate pigment to obtain a pigment preparation. By this constitution, the pigment can be prepared into a pigment powder form having soft textured particles and the obtained pigment preparation is suitably used in printing ink, copy paper or a typewriter ribbon.
