Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe cutter that can cut a thin VU pipe at appropriate pressure for cutting by clamping the pipe while making the pipe deform little, allows a chamfering operation subsequent to the cutting operation, and can easily be changed in size to match the size of the pipe to be cut.
SOLUTION: This pipe cutter is constituted of a cutter main body 2, which comprises an upper jaw part 23, having a pair of downward rollers 22, and an upper handle part 24, and a clamping member 3, which comprises a lower jaw part 32, having a pair of upward rollers 31, and a lower handle part 33, the lower jaw part 32 and the upper jaw part 23 are pivotally supported so that, as the upper and lower handle parts 24, 33 make clamping action, a pipe 11 to be cut can be clamped between the downward roller 22 and the upward roller 31. The upper jaw part 23 is fitted with a knife 5 whose edge is freely pressed against the pipe 11 to be cut and with a chamfering edge part.
