To allow either a child or an adult man to play a pitching game with interest by providing a moving mechanism moving a target forward and backward in order to adjust a distance between a pitching space and the target.

A pitching machine M is provided with the pitching space 1 and the target 2 putting a certain interval between the space 1 and the target 2, and can be moved forward/backward by a driving mechanism 3 as a moving mechanism. Then, a floor surface 4 between the space 1 and the target 2 is inclined down in the direction of the space 1 from the target 2 to return a ball, which is thrown from the space 1 to the target 2, in the direction of the space 1. Thereby, either a person of comparatively small force like a child or a person of high pitching ability like an adult man to the contrary can play the pitching game with interest.
