Abstract:

To provide a positive planographic printing original plate capable of direct plate making by infrared scanning exposure based on digital signals, having good sensitivity, and excellent in printing durability and chemical resistance.

The planographic printing original plate is obtained by sequentially disposing on a support an intermediate layer and a recording layer comprising a resin soluble in alkaline water and a photothermal conversion material, wherein the intermediate layer comprises a polymer having a lactone group and the resin soluble in alkaline water is novolak resin.
