To solve the problems of conventional solution culture comprising the unavoidable suppression of the growth of plant caused by the contact of culture solution to the whole root of the plant in the case of using a culture solution having high concentration of fertilizer salt or other salt.

A part of the root of a plant is exposed to the air, the other part of the root is immersed in a culture solution, and the relative humidity of the air space is maintained to ≥95%. Water can be sufficiently absorbed through the root exposed to air without drying the surface of the root to enable practical culture of the plant using a culture solution having high salt concentration in combination with the nutrient absorption through the other part of the root.
