To provide a plant information collection system which can accurately points a facility position by using a portable information terminal 12.
A portable information terminal 12 sends and receives signals to and from a supervisory controller and field facilities 8 through a radio means 13 and a service engineer visits the facilities 8 to be inspected by using a field map displayed on a display device 16 and collects information on the facility state of the facilities 8 according to information needed for information gathering calculated by an arithmetic means 15. The facilities 8 send and receive signals to and from a radio means 13 of the portable information terminal 12 by a radio transmitting and receiving means 19 and transmits facility state data generated by an arithmetic control means 20 to the portable information terminals 12.
