Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma arc heating device for molten metals inside a tundish which can prevent power feeding circuits from burning out.
SOLUTION: In the heating device for molten metals inside the tundish which heats molten metals 2 by a plasma arc generated between a plasma torch 5 and molten metals 2, by placing the plasma torch 5 on the upper portion of molten metals 2 inside the tundish 8 and by dipping anodes 12a, 12b into molten metals 2 inside the tundish 8, the invention is characterized by a plasma arc heating device for molten metals inside the tundish which links anodes 12a, 12b outside the tundish 8 or inside the wall of the tundish 8 through linking portions 16a, 16b by locating a plurality of anodes 12a, 12b on the wall surface of the tundish 8.
