Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a PDP(plasma display device), in which cracking of an insulating board itself of the PDP starting from a small hole part and arising from heat produced when adhering a glass tube to fill exhaust and discharge gas airtightly to an insulating board of the PDP with the small hole bored, and a stress produced when connecting it to an appliance to fill the exhaust gas and the discharge gas, is prevented, the glass tube is not broken when filling the discharge gas airtightly and stable work is possible. SOLUTION: A PDP 1 has a light emitting element of a picture display device made by partitioning a space between insulating boards 2 facing each other by barrier plates 3, providing plural electrodes 4 and phosphor 5 between the insulating boards 2, filling airtightly discharge gas in the space, generating plasma by applying a voltage between electrodes 4 and making the phosphor emit light. In this PDP, a glass tube 7, which penetrates through at least one of the insulating boards 2, has an opening 6 between the insulating boards 2 and is to fill discharge gas airtightly, is jointed to the insulating board 2.
