Title:
PLASMA JET SPARK PLUG
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2011175980
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a plasma jet spark plug by which the occurrence of channeling can be suppressed while reducing removal of energy contained in plasma through a ground electrode when plasma is ejected out.

The ground electrode 201 of this plasma jet spark plug 200 is protruded inwardly from the front end face 57 of the main fitting 50 toward an opening end 14 of a cavity 60 which is opened at the front end face 16 of an insulator 10. At its protruded tip, the tip 203 to form a spark discharge gap between the center electrode 20 in the cavity 60 and itself is positioned inwardly from a position of 0.5 mm on the outside in the radial direction of the opening end 14 of the cavity 60 in the radial P direction orthogonal to an axial line O.
