This plasma type fusion furnace device is provided with a furnace 10, an counter electrode 13, and a plasma torch 16, generates the plasma arc 20 between the counter electrode 13 and the plasma torch 16, and melts the melting object 18 fed from a melting object feed port 14. The level of an accumulation body measuring point A of the melting object 18 fed to inside the furnace 10 is measured by a laser level indicator 31, the distance between the accumulation body of the melting object 18 and the plasma arc 20 is calculated based on the measured value and the repose angle of the accumulation body, and a melting object feeding device 21 controlling the feed quantity of the melting object is controlled while retaining a prescribed distance or more.
