Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable a sure and rapid processing for pleating a jacquard pattern on fabric by readily, surely and responsibly switching the direction of many cloth feed dogs by a function of a no-load solenoid.
CONSTITUTION: This pleating machine is equipped with a pair of upper and lower press rollers 7 and 8, many cloth feed dogs 14, sliders 20 connected to the respective cloth feed dogs 14, a movable bedplate 28 capable of moving the sliders 20 back and forth, solenoids 30 and 31 composed of a movable piece 38 engaged between the edge of the respective sliders 20 and the movable bedplate 28 and capable of disengagement and exciter units 36 therefor and an elevator member 23 capable of transferring the sliders 20 moved forwards to the downward. The movable piece 38 of the respective solenoids 30 and 31 is designed so as to be narrower than the width of the cloth feed dogs 14 and the exciter units 36 are designed so as to be wider than the width of the cloth feed dogs 14. The exciter units 36 are arranged alternately high and low.
