Abstract:
To provide a pod type propeller capable of improving propulsion efficiency, without requiring an inverter, with high conversion efficiency for energy, and reducing swirling flow generated in front and back of the propeller and ineffective water flow, etc., generated in the circumferential direction.SOLUTION: A pod type propeller for propelling a vessel by rotating a propeller 20 by an electric motor for propulsion 8 in a pod 1 includes: a synchronizing differential transmitter 6 for varying a blade pitch angle by an electric motor for varying blade pitch 5 coupled to a rotational shaft of the propeller 20; a duct 19 arranged on an outer periphery of the propeller 20; and a duct front unit straightening plate 18 for straightening water flowing into the duct 19 to a flow going along a blade pitch angle of the propeller 20, arranged forward of the propeller 20 in the duct 19.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
