PURPOSE: To obtain a polishing method of an article which consists of a soft material, which requires no skill of polishing work and no exclusive processing device, and a wax used in such a polishing method.

CONSTITUTION: On the surface 1a of a washed polishing plate 1, a stick form wax 2 made by mixing and hardening a beeswax and a machine oil is coated to form a soft quality of membrane. Then, an article of a soft material is polished by the surface of the polishing plate 1 the wax 2 is coated. The mixing ratio of the beeswax and the machine oil is made in the scope of the machine oil 2 to 5 pts.wt. to the beeswax 100 pts.wt., and the rate of the machine oil is made 2 pts.wt. favorably.
