Abstract:
To provide a polyester film, most suitable for use in a surface cover of plasma display that can exhibit the excellent function of absorbing near infrared rays without any damage to the clarity of image on plasma display.
A polyester film has a hansmittance of all light rays of not less than 70%, an absorptivity in a wavelength region of 800-1,000 nm of not less than 60% and the number of flaws having a length of not less than 5mm and a depth of not less than 1.5 μm of not more than 3/m2. The member of flaws having a length of not less than 5 mm and a depth of not less than 1.5 μm and extending angularly within ±45° with respect to the width direction of the film is, preferably, not more than 1 /m2.
