Abstract:
To produce an inorganic particle-containing polyester with good productivity obtained by uniformly dispersing inorganic particles in a polyester.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a polyester in which a main repeating unit is an ethylene terephthalate unit, which comprises an esterification reaction step and a polycondensation reaction step of an oligomer obtained by the esterification reaction step, wherein the molar ratio of ethylene glycol to terephthalic acid used for producing the oligomer is 1.14 to 1.30, polycondensation reaction is performed after mixing the oligomer and a glycol slurry containing inorganic particles and the inorganic particles in the glycol slurry containing inorganic particles have an average particle diameter (d50) of 0.02 to 5.0 μm and a particle size distribution value (d90/d10) of 1.1 to 3.0.SELECTED DRAWING: None
