Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydrocarbon-based polymer electrolyte and a film thereof, which manifest high proton conductivity, have high resistance to oxidative degradation and high swelling resistance towards water, and are suitable as a polymer electrolyte for fuel cell.SOLUTION: The polymer electrolyte comprises a copolymer composed of a hydrophobic segment having no sulfonic acid group introduced, the main chain of which is mainly composed of a plurality of aromatic rings, and a hydrophilic segment having a sulfonic acid group(s) introduced, the main chain of which is mainly composed of aromatic rings. The plurality of aromatic rings which compose the hydrophobic segment are linked by a carbon-carbon direct bonds of the aromatic rings which compose the hydrophobic segment. The sulfonic acid group(s) of the hydrophilic segment is directly bonded to the aromatic ring(s), and the aromatic rings of the hydrophobic segment and the hydrophilic segment are linked by direct carbon-carbon bonds of the aromatic rings which constitute each segment.
