To provide a polymerizable liquid crystalline composition exhibiting a cholesteric phase nearly at room temperature, having a reflection color in a cholesteric reflection region over a wide range of red-green-blue-purple regulated by composition, and enabling a coated film exhibiting the cholesteric liquid crystal phase to be directly formed and fixed on a base material.
The polymerizable liquid crystalline composition contains a compound represented by the formula: R-P-X-(A-Z)m-Y [wherein, R is a polymerizable group such as CH2=C(R1)-COO (R1 is hydrogen or methyl); P is a single bond or an alkylene (optional -CH2- can be substituted with O, S, CH=CH, CO, COO or OCO); X is a single bond, O, S, COO, OCO, CON(R3), N(R3)CO or OCOO (R3 is hydrogen or methyl); A is an aromatic ring or an aliphatic ring; Z is a single bond, COO, OCO or CH2CH2; m is in integer of 0-3; and Y is a group represented by formulas (3-1), (3-2) or (3-3)] and a specific liquid crystalline compound.
