Abstract:

To provide a polyrotaxane-coated carbon fiber that can produce a carbon fiber composite having high breaking strength and spreadability, and a carbon fiber composite and a prepreg comprising the polyrotaxane-coated carbon fiber and having high breaking strength and spreadability.SOLUTION: A polyrotaxane-coated carbon fiber comprises a carbon fiber (A), a compound having two or more oxazolyl groups in one molecule (B), and a polyrotaxane having ring-shaped molecules (C). Chemical bond is formed between the carbon fiber (A) and some oxazolyl groups of the compound (B). Chemical bond is formed between the ring-shaped molecules of the polyrotaxane (C) and some oxazolyl groups of the compound (B).SELECTED DRAWING: None
