Abstract:

To obtain a polyvinyl acetal having excellent storage stability.

The polyvinyl acetal or its modified substance has less than 5 of a molecular weight distribution shown by a weight average molecular weight/a number average molecular weight in terms of polystyrene by a GPC measurement, and a method for producing thereof comprises contacting a starting polyvinyl acetal or its modified substance with an acidic substance or its salt.
