Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the portable telephone set where the user has only to put the ear piece of the telephone set to the ear to bring the telephone set to reply state thereby starting a speech smoothly without the depression of a start button or the like.
SOLUTION: When an incoming call reaches the portable telephone set, a receiver 11 receiving a call tone(ringing) generates a ring tone. When the user hearing the ring tone puts the ear piece to the ear, a receiver impedance change detection section 12 detects an impedance change attended with a volume change in a space in front of the receiver 11 and provides an output of an impedance change detection signal (d). Upon the receipt of the impedance change detection. signal (d), a reply control section 13 applies reply processing to the received call or holding release processing to a speech hold call.
