To provide a portable television telephone system which is excellent in convenience such that, while keeping the same utilization as a conventional portable telephone set with a camera, a direction or a position of a camera can be freely arranged, and wide range simultaneous photographing including surrounding meeting participants, surrounding background, etc. are possible, it is not necessary to take the portable telephone main body in hand for photographing, and user's degree of freedom improves, etc.

The system consists of a portable telephone set 1, a camera 2 which is freely attached and detached to the portable telephone set, and a headset 3 which is separated from the portable telephone set and the camera. The camera is freely attached and detached to the portable telephone set, and is directly connected to the portable telephone set by a USB (Universal Serial Bus) connector when attached to the portable telephone set. The camera performs short range radio communication with the portable telephone set by modules 12, 21 of the Bluetooth standard module for a video image, when the camera is detached from the portable telephone set. Short range radio communication is performed by the modules 10, 17 of the Bluetooth standard module for voice between the portable telephone set and the headset.
