A post-processing device has a storage part for storing ring information used in a ring bookbinding part, a hole information obtaining part for obtaining hole information of the sheet. The post-processing device compares the hole information obtained from the hole information obtaining part with the ring information obtained from the storage part to determine whether bookbinding processing can be performed.
