Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable efficient voltage control by interrupting an oscillating boosting operation in such a manner that a supply voltage does not fall down to a preset value or below and resetting the boosting operation when the supply voltage restores the voltage above a desired voltage.
CONSTITUTION: The voltage from a voltage source 30 is supplied as a charging voltage to a stroboscopic unit 20 and as a source voltage to another large- current circuit section 40. In addition, this voltage is supplied as a SENS voltage to the terminal A of a control circuit 10. The control circuit 10 outputs an INH signal for on/off control of the charging operation of the stroboscopic unit 20 from a terminal C to the stroboscopic unit 20 in accordance with the result of comparison of this SENS voltage and a predetermined reference voltage Vref. This device is so constituted as to interrupt the charging operation of the stroboscopic unit 20 when the voltage from the voltage source 30 falls down to the reference voltage Vref or below. The period of this INH signal is about, for example, 1MHZ and is higher in frequency than the intrinsic boosting oscillation frequency and, therefore, a chopping operation is executed.
