Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arbitrarily control the maximum power consumption of a telephone exchange.SOLUTION: A power supply apparatus comprises: number-of-operating terminal control means which monitors the number of operating terminals that is the number of first terminals being presently operating terminals, and issues an instruction to prohibit power supply to second terminals other than the first terminals if the number of operating terminals exceeds a threshold; and line interface means which, when receiving a request for power supply from the second terminals, supplies no power to the second terminals if the instruction of prohibition has been issued, and supplies power to the second terminals if the instruction of prohibition has not been issued.
