PURPOSE: To obtain a filter paper piece or paper disc suitable for simple clinical tests for humors, by fixing various kinds of enzymes and reagents for clinical diagnoses on a filter paper piece or paper disc, followed by lyophilicztion.

CONSTITUTION: A filter paper piece or paper disc is oxidized so shtat a free hydroxyl group of cellulose, its constituent component, is converted into an aldehyde group, to which enzymes for various kinds of clinical tests and analyses are linked. Reagents for various kinds of clinical tests and analyses are adsorbed on the same filter paper piece or paper disc. After the operation, it is immediately lyophilized to give the filter paper piece or paper disc which can be used for simple semiquantitative analysis by the spot of humors and for micro-quantitative analysis by the addition of a test solution. The filter paper piece or paper disc is stable at normal temperature, has good quantitative accuracy and reproducibility, and can be used fully for an urgent test or in a hospital with a few members, etc.
